Dientes Sensibles
Why Are My Teeth Sensitive?
A small amout of sensitivity to changes in temperature (like very cold or hot liquids) is normal in
a healthy tooth, but several things can cause a tooth to become extra sensitive(hypersensitive) and some of these are:
Cavities
Wear From Hard Toothbrush
Wear From Grinding Teeth
Root Exposure From Gum Recession
A New Filling
A Dental Cleaning
A Fractured Or Chipped Tooth
The best way to treat sensitive teeth is to have your dentist determine the cause and recommend the
most appropiate treatment. These are some of the thing that can reduce or eliminate sensitivity:
Filling any cavities on sensitive teeth
Protect worn, fractured or chipped teeth with a crown or onlay
Cover exposed roots with a filling material or a gum graft
Brush with a toothpaste made for sensitive teeth
Apply a desensitizing solution or gel to sensitive teeth
Brushing and flossing properly and using a toothpaste for sensitive teeth three or more times daily
should be done routinely if you have sensitive teeth. If this does not reduce or eliminate the sensitivity, consult your family
dentist.
